Jennifer and Aron
This dates way back to grade 10…I was an avid soccer player, and one of team members invited me to her birthday party. At the party this other friend of hers, Matt, asked me out on a date, and after consulting my friends I ended up turning him down (good old peer pressure). About 5 years later my brother ended up working with Matt, and becoming very good friends with him, which always urked me a little, because I was a bit embarassed about the whole situation.
Let’s fast forward to 2004…I had come out of a longterm relationship and wasn’t really looking to get back into the dating scene, but my brother suggested I come with him to Matt’s birthday party….I was so hesitant but I decide what do I have to lose. I showed up to the party with my brother and usually I am the life of the party, but I was just hanging back and taking it all in. All of a sudden I turned around and noticed my brother talking to this guy I had never seen before. He was tall, blonde, very cute…I figured I would go over and get the introduction. So I did. This guy’s name was Aron, and I was very intrigued…we chatted briefly as we both had VW Jettas…but then we went our separate ways. After awhile I caught him looking over, and we kept exchanging glances but he never made a move. So I just picked up an ice cube from the cooler and tossed it at him. He laughed and walked over and we got to talking…time just flew by. My brother had decided he was going to leave and I didn’t want to go so I said I would catch a cab home. The party was dwindling down and now Matt had decided he wanted McDonalds but everyone had been drinking except me so I volunteered to drive, but didn’t have a vehicle. Aron said I could drive his car, but was a little tentative. Off we went and we got to an intersection and all the guys were joking with me about doing a burn out in Aron’s car and I said I could and they all sort of laughed it off, thinking I didn’t know how. The light turned green and I did the best burn out ever…Aron was in shock!
Two days later Aron called and asked me out…of course I said I was busy, but maybe he could meet me to walk my dog, Mya. This was definitely a test…of course he passed. Later that week out of sheer luck I was given tickets to Harry Connick Jr. so I asked Aron to go with me. It was such a great night, we had dinner at Gotham, a great show, and then we went for dessert at True Confections in Kits…and headed down to the beach in the dark to eat it.
I guess you can say the rest is history…but Aron sure surprised me when two years later he proposed over a piece of cheescake and a coffee on Jericho beach.

Chantelle and Jason
Almost 14 years ago was when Jason and I first met, at the old gazebo at White Rock Beach. He was 16 and I was 14 years old. Even though Jason lived in Richmond and I lived in White Rock, we saw each other every weekend and sometimes during the week. Being apart from him was hard; I just wanted to spend all my time with him. Our relationship lasted 11 ½ months. Jason graduated that year and accepted a scholarship to the University of Crookston, Minnesota. I knew that I couldn’t live without him in my life as a constant, so we broke up. We thought it was for the best. For the following 9 years, we lived our lives separately and across the country from one another. We thought of each other often and even made attempts to get back together. Jason was still living in Minnesota and me in White Rock. It never worked.
There was something that just kept me thinking about Jason and the relationship that we had. So, I started looking for him. I searched the Internet, phonebooks and I even tried calling his old ball coach in Minnesota and I attempted to contact him through old e-mail addresses. I spent weeks scouring the Internet for him. Something told me that he and I were meant to be together. Finally, I came to the conclusion that he was happily married and living his life, sigh, without me!
A couple of weeks later I received e-mail from classmates.com, from Jason. Telling me that he had spent the last few weeks trying to contact me as well. From that moment on I knew that the choices that we had made had brought us together. It was fate. I knew that I was meant to marry this man.
Today, we are planning an intimate wedding for close friends and family. Pictures will remind us everyday, when we can remember no longer, of the journey that we took to be together.

Karen and Josh
One night, back when I was 19, I met Josh at my friends house party. I thought he looked really old~ 30-something (remember I was 19) and wanted nothing to do with him. Then about one week later, my friend Neil wanted to go floating down the river (we lived in Prince George). He came to my work with Josh and they followed me home so I could get ready. So there we were floating down the river for about 3 1/2hrs. I thought he was pretty cute and found out he wasn’t as old as I had thought. He was very nice and by the end of the float I had a huge crush!! After the float we all went back to his house for a BBQ and I continued crushing on him. I had also realized that I had been to his house about one year prior for another house party, I just never met him!! By the end of his BBQ I found out he had no girlfriend and that made me even happier.
A few days after that, we all went out for my friends birthday. I told my one girlfriend I thought Josh was pretty cute. She ended up telling her boyfriend what I thought and that’s how Josh found out I liked him. Later on that night he got my phone number and I went home and gushed to my brother about how I had found this great guy.
A day later he called me and I went up to his house. When I arrived at his place he was ironing a shirt!!! I thought to myself, “wow, a guy who irons is a keeper for sure!!!”. We chatted for a couple hours at his place. We talked about everything. People we knew, what we like to do for fun, all of our favourite movies, foods etc. We found out a lot about eachother, it was a great conversation. After that we went to Dairy Queen for some treats. We went back to his house and ate them on his back patio. He put his down on the deck quite quickly, so I thought he finished his. I didn’t want him to think I was one of those girls who didn’t eat, so i ate and ate and ate. My stomach was full! I finally put it down to realize his was still 3/4 full, and then I felt like a pig!! hahahaha. He just thought I really liked my icecream! lol.
And thats about it. We ended up hanging out every single day for weeks and have been together ever since. We have our 9 year anniversary tomorrow, July 31st

My vote is for Karen and Josh. I have known Karen since we were 5 years old. We used to ride our tricycles to each others house for sleepovers. As a long time friend I can truly say that no one else brings out the best in Karen like Josh does. They compliment each other in many ways and honestly cherish the companionship they have found. I can’t wait for the big day! We went for Karen’s first dress fitting last night- she looked gorgeous! She gushed about how excited she is and I found myself anticipating her walk down the aisle to join hands with Josh to say their “I do’s.”
